Hello everyone and thanks a bunch for the comments and suggestions. We have started working on the project, and we got a good vibrations from the authorities regarding the land use. We are currently searching for the good area that would be best for both the bees and the people working with the bees.
The suggestion is to place the apiary somewhere around the Arboretum, or the wildlife area behind the Ecomuseum. There were also suggestions to place the apiary at the Hort-center, but there the access is not always open, the possible locations are scarce, and the center uses lots of pesticides. So, I would stay away from there.
So, if everything goes smooth, we should be able to start the community apiary this spring.
It was irresistible to miss the window of opportunity to check on the hives, now that the weather was getting warmer. MAA members headed for the apiary in anticipation, to evaluate the post-winter condition of the nine remaining hives. The following is a report of each hive's condition and outlook:
