MAA Community Apiary
The MAA Community Apiary (MAACA) was established in 2010 in an effort to provide a conflict-free space for urban dwellers wishing to take care of their own bee colonies. It is located near the Morgan Arboretum in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, on the McGill's Macdonald campus grounds. The Apiary is surrounded by forest and huge wildlife area providing the bees with diverse forage throughout the active season.
The MAACA membership is open for everyone, especially beginning beekeepers that can find plenty of guidance and support from the more experienced MAACA members and their bees, as well the support from the MAA itself. The diversity in beekeeping approaches is encouraged, as well the exchange of new ideas and innovation in the ways the bees are managed. All this can be possible, as with the community support the inexperienced and less experienced beekeepers can have a guidance and help in case they need them.
